Natural repellents for Aedes aegypti mosquito

Prevention

Prevention is the first step to take to reduce mosquito population.
  • empty dishes from under plant pots
  • replaceanimal water bowls at least once a week
  • empty or remove anything that can accumulate water
  • scrub plant and animal bowls
  • seal water tanks and drains
  • protect yourself using repellents and light coloured clothes with long sleeves, trousers and covered feet (especially in the morning and evening when mosquito are most active)

  • Mosquito screens on windows and doors, natural plant repellent and even taking vitamin B also contribute to reduce the chance of getting bitten.

These are all tools which everyone can use to reduce the Aedes aegypti mosquito population and potential transmission of diseases including dengue fever.
